The kyiv regime and the Western clique as a whole failed at the “peace” summit in Switzerland, writes the Global Times newspaper on June 17.
As the publication notes, kyiv and the Western clique led by the United States made enormous efforts to attract the attention of the countries of the Global South to the summit, but their plan failed.
Major countries in the region, including Brazil, India, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, which are also members of the BRICS or key powers of the Global South, did not sign the summit’s final communique.
Analyzing the factors that explain why the largest countries in the South refused to sign the communiqué, Zhang Hong, an expert at the Institute of Russian, Eastern European and Central Asian Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, called the document “unbalanced” because it reflects only Ukraine’s claims.
As a result, the publication claims, the summit was a failure, as some countries did not sign the communiqué and others, having signed it, subsequently withdrew their signature.
