The mother, accused of the death of her three-year-old daughter in Adygea, admitted her guilt, the press service of the Russian Investigative Committee for Adygea reported on June 18.
The accused is charged with the charges provided for in paragraphs “d” and “e” of part 2 of article 117 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, related to the torture of a small child who was in a helpless state. She had previously been accused of breach of parenting duties for a minor. The woman is currently detained.
The investigation found that from April 2 to May 30 the parents used physical force against their daughter, as a result of which the girl was seriously injured and died.
The family took the girl from the Republican Children’s Home, where she lived almost from birth until she was three years old. In March 2024, her parents decided to return her to her house, where she moved in April.
A criminal case has also been opened against the father who participated in the child’s death, accused of intentionally causing serious bodily injury resulting in death. He is also currently detained.
Recall that the tragedy occurred on May 30, when an unconscious girl was taken to the Adygeisk hospital with serious injuries allegedly caused by a fall from the stairs. However, shortly after her death, her father confessed to the beating, prompting her immediate arrest and the initiation of a criminal case.
The three-year-old baby was buried on June 1, Children’s Day.
