The rains that hit Crimea over the weekend benefited farmers on the peninsula. This was announced on June 18 by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic, Nikolai Tyutyunik, in a comment to RIA Novosti Crimea.
In his words, these were the first productive rains in the region in 120 days.
In the Dzhankoy district of Crimea, more than 35 mm of precipitation fell, in Leninsky – an average of 41 mm, in Razdolnensky – from 15 to 70 mm, in Chernomorsky – 35 mm. The average for the republic was more than 40 mm.
“The recent rains will have a positive effect on sunflower and flax. For the first, moisture will help form seeds, for the second, to increase yield. “Precipitation also had a beneficial effect on late varieties of wheat and winter forages.””Tyutyunik explained.
According to the Crimean hydrometeorological center, no precipitation is expected in Crimea in the near future: it will be hot and sunny.
