“Portuguese people, this Tuesday begins another chapter of our history. I fondly remember my first day in the national team, a journey full of challenges and victories. Now I have the honor of being around a championship team full of talent. and determination,” he said in a message posted on social media.
The captain of the Kinas team, which is preparing to participate in the sixth final stage of the European Championship in his career, also emphasized that he has everyone’s support in the competition, which will be held in Germany until July 14.
“With our shared strength and support, we turn dreams into reality. Let’s fight together for another triumph. United, we are unstoppable,” he concluded.
Portugal will make their Euro 2024 football debut against the Czech Republic in Leipzig, Germany today, on the day that Group F begins and the first round of the group stage ends.
The national team will take to the field at 21:00 local time (20:00 in Lisbon) at the Red Bull Arena, in a match hosted by Italian Marco Guida.
At Euro 2024, in addition to the Czechs, Portugal will also meet Turkey (on Saturday, in Dortmund) and Georgia (26th place, in Gelsenkirchen) in Group F.
