The PNR arrested a 31-year-old man who had a warrant pending for escaping from prison in the municipality of Almeirim. Two years ago, a suspect linked to crimes of robbery and theft left the Vale de Judeus prison in serious condition and did not return.
As part of the crime prevention operation in the city of Almeirim, members of the Guard conducted police investigations in previously mentioned locations related to theft practices. As a result of the investigation, a suspect was identified.
“During the operation, various equipment, materials and tools were also discovered, allegedly obtained as a result of various thefts,” the PNR said in a statement.
The detainee was taken to the Vale de Judeus prison to serve an effective prison sentence.
