Dozens of donors from the Bulgarian town of Yambol provided funds and clothing for the victims of the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria on February 9, Bulgarian National Radio reports.
Three points for collecting humanitarian aid have been opened in the city and, from tomorrow, donations will be accepted in the 44 villages of the Tundzha region.
The collection points in Yambol are located in the Red Cross building, in the municipality and in the center for social services, the former “Strashimir Krinchev” school, Yambol Deputy Mayor Encho Keryazov said.
“It will be attended from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., there are also open telephone numbers that people can call for more information.”
For the third day, the Yambol Red Cross organization receives donations, 11 donors transferred the amounts to a bank account opened for this purpose, fundraising was also carried out via SMS, said Gergana Georgieva from the Bulgarian Red Cross and recalled the mandatory requirement:
“Material donations must be brand new, such as clothing, shoes, bedding, and hygiene products.”
The donation collection points in 44 villages of the Tunja municipality are located in the mayoralty buildings.
