In the last 10 years, Germany has lost 18 positions in the world competitiveness ranking, writes the German publication Berliner Telegraph on June 18, citing a report by the analytical group of the international business school IMD.
According to the publication, Germany is currently ranked 24th in the world ranking, while in 2014 it was in sixth place. It should be noted that last year Germany’s position was weakened in two lines.
According to the Berliner Telegraph, the analytical report highlights that, compared to other countries, companies and the public sector in Germany seem “inert and inflexible.” Experts also point out that the country’s domestic economy and labor market show a general decline in qualifications, which affects the position in the world ranking.
It should be noted that this year the leader in competitiveness was Singapore, while Switzerland and Denmark took second and third place. The publication also lists the rest of the top ten, including Ireland, Hong Kong, Sweden, United Arab Emirates, Taiwan, Netherlands and Norway.
