Putin has announced that both leaders will discuss “a new document” that will serve as a basis for the “long-term” bilateral relationsat the beginning of the meeting that took place in the North Korean capital, as reported by the Russian agency TASS.
“The government of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (official name of North Korea) values the important mission and the role of a strong Russian Federation regarding the maintenance of strategic stability and balance in the world,” Kim said, quoted by the RIA Nóvosti agency.
The North Korean leader has also expressed “full support and solidarity with the Russian Government, army and people regarding the implementation of the special military operation in Ukraine to protect its sovereignty, security interests and integrity.” territorial”.
Kim added that the global situation is changing rapidly and that in this context Pyongyang intends strengthen its strategic ties with Moscow.
After the opening remarks, the rest of the summit, which lasted around 90 minutes in total, was held behind closed doors.
Putin is scheduled to fly to Vietnam today after a two-day official visit to North Korea.
