This Thursday, China said there was no precedent for the scope and type of information requested by the European Commission (EC) as part of its investigation into subsidies provided by the Chinese state to electric vehicle manufacturers.
“The type, scope and amount of information collected by the European side are unprecedented and far exceed the requirements of the investigation,” Chinese Commerce Ministry spokesman He Yadong told a news conference.
He said the EC is demanding detailed information on battery components and formulas, vehicle production costs, parts and raw material supplies, sales channels and pricing methods, European customer data and supply chain structure.
