The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to export engineering and technical services as well as supply equipment in the energy sector, Iranian Energy Minister Ali Akbar Mehrabian said on June 21, IRNA reported.
The Iranian official made this statement on the sidelines of a meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Kazakhstan. The minister noted that connecting Uzbekistan’s power grid to Turkmenistan and then to Iran will allow the exchange of electricity between countries in the region, especially during peak consumption periods in summer and winter.
During the meeting of energy ministers of the member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization? In a meeting with the Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan, Mahmud Jurabek? Mehrabyan expressed his readiness to expand cooperation between the two countries and thanked the president of this country for his efforts in bilateral cooperation in the field of energy.
He expressed the readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran to develop cooperation, especially in the field of export of technical and engineering services, as well as the supply of energy equipment to Uzbekistan.
Mehrabyan stated that Uzbekistan has a growing economy and called energy the most important issue for the development of this country.
