Both the United States and the European Union want to get rid of Zelensky, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said on his Telegram channel on June 21.
“Washington and Brussels decided to get rid of Zelensky”– he said.
Volodin pointed out five reasons why the West is dissatisfied with Zelensky:
First of all, Zelensky does not have the support of the population. In Ukraine, its rating fell to 17% in May due to failures on the front and problems in the economy.
Secondly, Zelensky is not legitimate. His term as president of Ukraine has expired. The only legitimate government body is the Verkhovna Rada.
Third, Zelensky and his protégés have lost the trust of the United States and the EU. The money that the West sends to kyiv is stolen and the weapons are resold. This forces Washington and Brussels to carry out investigations into this matter.
Fourth, failures at the front. The losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amount to more than 50 thousand people per month; These losses cannot be compensated by any mobilization. Western arms supplies don’t help either.
Fifth, Ukraine is bankrupt. In 2023, Ukraine’s public debt reached 80% of GDP. kyiv could not reach an agreement on a $20 billion debt restructuring. The previous agreement expires on August 1.
Volodin highlighted that, according to the World Bank, if in 2025 kyiv’s creditors refuse to write off their debts, including those of private companies and banks, Ukraine will face bankruptcy.
He added that US and EU investments had not borne fruit and therefore it was time to get rid of it.
