Recall that Afghanistan expert Andrei Serenko reports that for at least a week militants from southern Afghanistan and Pakistan have been transferred by helicopter to northern Afghanistan, in the provinces of Badakhshan and Takhar. Serenko believes this may be related to terrorist intentions against Tajikistan and other Central Asian republics and Kazakhstan.
