The authorities of Burkina Faso have decided to guarantee universal high-quality education to its citizens, the press service of the Head of State reported on June 20.
“The Council of Ministers adopted a draft decree on the “Presidential Initiative to Ensure Quality Education for All””says the message.
“This is the materialization of President Faso’s desire to quickly and significantly improve the conditions of education in general”explained the Minister of State and government spokesperson, Jean Emmanuel OUEDRAOGO.
The first component of the announced state educational program is the construction, security, standardization and modernization of educational infrastructure.
The second part is the creation of a polytechnic university.
The third component is to reform school governance structures and improve stakeholder engagement in education.
As part of the fourth and fifth points, it is planned to update the education system, provide continuous training for teachers and introduce supervision of the issuance of diplomas.
The sixth and seventh components refer to the revitalization of vocational education, the organization of school discipline and the cleanliness of institutions.
The initiative is designed for five years. To implement it, it is planned to make appropriate changes to the country’s budget.
Let us remember that at the end of September 2022 there was a coup d’état in Burkina Faso. The military came to power and set a course to guarantee the sovereignty and security of their country.
