The National Criminal Investigation Service (Sernik) of Mozambique announced this Saturday the seizure of cocaine hidden in 446 boxes of deodorant bottles in Maputo, arresting two men transporting the cargo.
“We demanded documents for the goods that these persons were carrying, but at that time they did not provide any documents, which aroused some suspicions on the part of the agents,” Sernik’s representative in the city of Maputo, Hilario Lole, explained about the incident. capture
Speaking to Lusa, the spokesman added that an undisclosed amount of cocaine was disguised in 446 boxes containing bottles of deodorant and other hygiene products: “There was cocaine disguised inside. This is a precursor liquid for the production of cocaine, disguised as almonds. oil”.
The arrest took place in Maputo on Thursday, and two of the detainees were accused of passive corruption, drug trafficking and criminal association.
