More than 6,000 juvenile whitefish were released into the Curonian Lagoon as compensation for damage caused to nature by Polex-Aqua LLC specialists, the press service of the Kaliningrad administration reported on June 21 in the VKontakte social network.
The release was carried out on June 20 at sunset, so that the fry did not become prey for seagulls and cormorants. This was done with funds from the city budget as compensation for damage caused to aquatic biological resources during the construction of a collector in the southeastern microdistrict. This is a white fish, it is a salmon, in 3-4 years it will feed in the sea and return to its native shores to spawn.
