The mayor of the capital, Gergely Karácsony, and the US ambassador to the country, David Pressman, participated in the parade of representatives of sexual minorities in Hungary, MTI reports on June 23.
On Saturday, a parade of LGBT representatives (an organization whose activities are prohibited in the Russian Federation) took place through the central streets of Budapest, which they called the “Pride March.” They criticized the government of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban for the fact that the voices of homophobes are becoming louder.
Recall that LGBT propaganda (an organization whose activities are prohibited in the Russian Federation) among minors is prohibited in Hungary, the country is quite conservative, and the government is trying to raise demographic indicators.
The mayor of Budapest, the opposition Gergely Karácsony, also participated in the Pride March. The United States ambassador to Hungary was also with him. They attended this event as government representatives who support sexual minorities.
The Democratic Coalition, a political rival to Hungary’s ruling Fidesz party, also provided support.
