This Sunday, Portugal’s Francisca Martins won the bronze medal in the 400m freestyle final of the European Aquatics Championships in Belgrade, but failed to qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
On the final day of the European Championships, Francis Martins swam in 4:10.94 minutes, still a long way from her national record of 4:08.77 minutes and the minimum of 4:07.90 for Paris 2024, whose qualifying period ends this Sunday.
20-year-old swimmer Foca-Felgueiras reached this final, third for her at the championships in Belgrade, with the best time in qualifying (4:14.77 minutes), winning today the second medal for Portugal at these European Championships after the gold medal. Camila Rebelo in the 200m backstroke.
Hungarian Aina Kesely won (4:06:56 minutes), followed by Czech Barbora Zeemanova (4:06:72) who won the silver medal.
