Several men fired at a synagogue, an Orthodox church and a police station in the Russian region of Dagestan in Russia’s North Caucasus, according to Reuters.
According to the same source, more than fifteen police officers and a priest were killed and twelve people were injured as a result of the attacks.
One of the policemen was killed during shelling of a synagogue in Derbent, where the Jewish community is located. After the attack, the synagogue burned down. Another shooting took place at a police station in Makhachkala, about 125 kilometers north of the Caspian Sea coast, where another policeman was killed, and at a church where a priest died.
According to the regional department, two attackers were shot dead.
