The leader of the United Armenia party, Yervand Tarverdyan, saw a component of corruption in the “non-profit” funds created by the Armenian authorities, including the fund owned by the wife of the Prime Minister of the Republic Anna Hakobyan, on February 10 in an interview with journalists.
“I see in them the legalization of indirect bribery”– said the Armenian politician.
According to him, before the residents of Armenia had to transfer money to the funds of the mayor’s office to obtain a building permit, but today they transfer money to the Anna Hakobyan fund.
Tarverdyan called for the liquidation of said funds or to make them completely transparent. “So that any citizen can enter and see how much money there is, who it came from and how it is spent”added.
Recall that in September 2022, the Armenian newspaper Zhoghovurd presented its observations on the volume of donations to the My Step Foundation, headed by Anna Hakobyan, wife of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashyanna. According to the publication, this fund receives hundreds of thousands of dollars annually from anonymous people.
