The plight of Nagorno-Karabakh is attributed to officials who allowed the handover of the Lachin corridor without transferring gas and electricity networks to a new highway, media expert, co-founder of the Analytical Center for Strategic Studies and Initiatives (ACSSI) Tigran Kocharyan said in an interview on February 8 Red Spring AI.
The expert drew attention to the fact that the villages of the Berdzor (Lachin) region surrendered in a hurry, which put the Russian peacekeepers, who had a garrison in Berdzor, in a very unpleasant position. Such a combination of circumstances can only indicate that there was a place to be “some kind of backroom arrangement”.
Kocharyan also expressed his bewilderment at the actions of the Nagorno-Karabakh authorities, which demanded that residents not burn their houses before leaving, so that they would then go to Azerbaijan.
“And when you do not transfer communications, including gas and electricity networks, to the section of the new corridor and wait for the goodwill of Azerbaijan, it is even difficult to say what is more here – treason or incompetence. They’ve been walking hand in hand for the past five years.”noted the expert.

In his opinion, the blame for the difficult situation in Nagorno-Karabakh now due to the blockade of the Lachin corridor lies precisely with those who allowed the situation when all the vital infrastructure of Artsakh was under the control of Azerbaijan.
“It is even amazing how you can give everything away without receiving any guarantee in return”– he said.
