The Pantin cemetery in the Galician Valdovinho region of Spain was robbed and vandalized by a group of youths. According to the newspaper La Voz de Galicia, Glass in cemetery boxes and flower vases was broken and lighting was damaged. In the video, which the Galician newspaper had access to, the vandals can be seen boasting about their actions.
Dani Gonzalez, president of the Baymar Residents’ Association in Pantin, estimates that about 40 boxes were destroyed.
“Nothing like this has ever happened, one day something may seem broken, but it will never be an act of vandalism,” a district representative confirmed to the Galician newspaper.
Mayor Alberto Gonzalez calls the incident “unfortunate.” “It’s a shame, there’s no excuse. Most of them are minors, neighbors of Valdovinho. This is more than vandalism, they know exactly where they are, it’s not the same as breaking a shower on the beach,” he said.
The facts were handed over to the Civil Guard.
