This week, the book “Shinzo Abe. Memoirs”. It is written in a question-and-answer format and consists of 18 interviews that Abe gave to journalists. Previously, these interviews were not published due to their sensitive nature.
In these interviews, Abe said that he considered China the main threat to Japan and improved relations with Russia, but the United States sought to prevent Japan-Russia rapprochement and put pressure on Japan. In 2016, US President Barack Obama was dissatisfied with Shinzo Abe’s visit to Russia and the talks between Abe and Putin.
Let’s remember that Shinzo Abe was Prime Minister of Japan in 2006-2007 and 2012-2020. He has served in this position the longest in the country’s history. He was shot dead on July 8, 2022 during an election rally.
