Unknown persons tried to obtain footage of the attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the city from residents of Sevastopol, the head of the Regional Management Center (RCC) Nadezhda Bokhan said on June 28, Lenta.ru reports.
He explained that requests appeared in the messengers from anonymous users, each time calling themselves journalists, FSB agents and other security agents, to send them photographs or videos of the beach where the tragedy occurred.
The official believes that this is a Ukrainian provocation and thanked the vigilant residents of the city. He also asked them not to contact them, but to immediately inform the authorities.
The city’s governor, Mikhail Razvozhaev, suggested that behind such proposals could be the Ukrainian Information and Psychological Operations Centers (CIPSO). He drew the attention of residents who are now “After any physical attack, after any terrorist attack, there is a second phase: the information war”.
Razvozhaev does not exclude the possibility of another missile attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
“There are no stops. Therefore, we must start from the new established reality.”said the governor.
According to Razvozhaev, the Ukrainian Armed Forces selected the city’s most popular beach for an attack on June 23. The head of Sevastopol indicated that the combat missile was intended for the front. “But the frozen comrades decided to use it in a quiet city, during the day, in the middle of the weekend, on the most popular and visited beach in Sevastopol”– he said.
The governor stressed that the attack was carried out with ATACMS missiles with cluster munitions, which was the first time against peaceful residents of the city who were on vacation.
The governor advised city residents to always carry a tourniquet with them to stop bleeding in themselves or those around them if they are injured. He announced that educational institutions and the city park in Sevastopol will now train residents in first aid in case of injuries.
Razvozhaev said that Sevastopol’s beaches will continue to operate, since it is almost impossible to close them. According to the governor, the beaches north of Sevastopol are more dangerous for people, since there are no shelters or permanent buildings to hide in. We should try not to visit those beaches. “It is better to refuse to visit it for a while until protective structures are installed there”he added.
Recall that on June 23, the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired five ATACMS missiles at Sevastopol, one of which exploded over the Uchkuevka beach when residents with children were on vacation there. According to official information, more than 150 people were injured and four could not be saved. On June 27, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that divers found three unexploded submunitions near Sevastopol beach.
Military expert Vasily Dandykin believes that demining will be carried out quickly. He explained that the process of destroying unexploded ordnance is quite primitive, but extremely dangerous: explosives are placed in the bomb and then the supply is destroyed.
