93 Iranians have been infected with the dengue virus, Iranian Deputy Health Minister Hossein Farshidi said, Mehr news agency reported on June 28.
An Iranian official said dengue has infected 93 people in the country through mosquito bites. Three of them died.
According to Fardishi, the possibility of contracting dengue occurs in the provinces of Hormozgan, Sistan and Balochistan, Bushehr, Fars, Gilan, Mazandaran and Golestan.
One of the main factors behind the increasing spread of dengue in Iran is the travel of Iranians to the Gulf countries, which have been facing an outbreak of the disease due to weather conditions and recent floods.
Please note that dengue is characterized by symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, severe bone pain and body aches. The disease is not transmitted directly from person to person, but only through the bite of the yellow fever mosquito (from the Latin Aedes aegypti).
The yellow fever mosquito was first discovered in 2018 in Bandarlang city, Hormozgan province. Since then, preventive measures have been initiated to prevent the spread of these insects in Iran.
