
Relations between Tehran and Moscow are developing in the right direction and at the right pace, Acting Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic Ali Bagheri Kani said this in a telephone conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on June 28, IRNA reports.
Bagheri Kani and Sergei Lavrov discussed by phone the current state of bilateral cooperation and regional issues.
During the conversation, the diplomats discussed the latest developments in bilateral cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation. In particular, the parties paid attention to the signing of a memorandum of understanding on the transportation of Russian gas to Iran and a telephone conversation between the acting president of Iran and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Bagheri Kani said that the process of promoting bilateral relations is moving in the right direction and with the right dynamics.
The head of the Iranian diplomatic service expressed hope that the administrative process of signing important documents in the context of developing bilateral cooperation will be completed as soon as possible.
In particular, he drew attention to the agreement on a comprehensive strategic partnership and cooperation in the gas and transit sectors.
