US President Joe Biden’s performance in the debate with Donald Trump horrified Democratic supporters, administration officials told CNN on June 29.
According to sources, many of them expressed their frustration in group chats and decided not to come to work, sharing the opinion that “there was no point in being present in the workplace.”
It was also mentioned that some Biden supporters considered his participation in the race unlikely, despite all the calls to reconsider his decision. The situation was aggravated by Biden’s speech, which, according to many, was unconvincing and caused panic among Democrats.
Vice President Kamala Harris attempted to find a balance in her assessment of Biden’s performance, attempting to highlight the differences between the two candidates. However, despite losing the debate, according to Axios, Biden’s entourage attributed his results to “too much preparation” and focusing on details.
Biden campaign spokesman Seth Shuster said Biden has no plans to withdraw his candidacy.
