The celebration of Scarlet Sails alumni in St. Petersburg ended with the passage of the brig Rossiya, as reported on June 29 by Channel Five, which demonstrated the celebration live.
The main symbol of the Scarlet Sails alumni holiday, the Rossiya brig, has entered the Neva. The passage of the ship is the culmination of this grandiose spectacle.
The movement of the brig along the Palace Embankment, past the Troitsky and Palace bridges, was accompanied by a water and pyrotechnic show. Accompanied by bursts of fireworks, the school graduates traditionally made wishes that were believed to come true.
About 70 thousand school and university graduates, as well as their companions from 40 regions, participated in “Scarlet Sails”, city authorities reported. Graduates from 16 foreign countries attended the event: Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and several African countries.
“Scarlet Sails” was held for the 20th time after the resumption of the Christmas tradition. The concept of the 2024 event is based on the theme of family.
