The equipment of specialized forestry institutions with special equipment for extinguishing forest fires continues within the framework of the federal project “Forest Conservation” of the national project “Ecology”, the press service of the Chuvash Republic authorities reported on June 29.
Cheboksary and Shemurshinskoye forestry farms received 4 fire-fighting tankers 6.0-40 based on the KAMAZ-43118 chassis, equipped with all necessary fire-fighting equipment and gas and smoke protection equipment, for a total amount of 53.860 thousand rubles.
According to the head of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Chuvashia Emir Bedertdinov, since the start of the implementation of the regional project “Forest Conservation”, the forest regions of Chuvashia have already received 542 units of machinery and equipment, totaling 236.3 million rubles. By the end of 2024, the availability of forest fire fighting equipment in the republic will be 100%.
The federal project “Forest Conservation” is being implemented within the framework of the state program “Forest Development” of the Russian Federation and the national project “Ecology”.
Project objectives:
— ensure a balance between forest removal and reproduction at a rate of 100% by 2024;
— reduction of damage caused by forest fires almost three times (from 32.3 billion rubles to 12.5 billion rubles).
Project activities include:
— increase the area of reforestation;
— purchase of forestry machinery and equipment;
— purchase of forest fire fighting equipment and equipment;
— formation of a forest seed reserve;
— carry out an inventory of the reforestation fund.
85 constituent entities of the Russian Federation are involved in the implementation of the project.
