CSKA Moscow’s return to the Euroleague in the near future is not considered possible, club president Andrei Vatutin said in an interview with TASS on June 29.
Following the exclusion of Russian clubs from the Euroleague in March 2022 due to the Ukrainian crisis, CSKA continues to maintain the club’s infrastructure and management level at the required level, despite the lack of illusions about an imminent return to the tournament.
Vatutin stressed that the possibility of participating in European basketball competitions should not be considered in isolation from other sports such as football.
He indicated that it will be necessary to overcome a certain milestone before the return process begins, but the timing of this event cannot yet be predicted.
