A young 27-year-old mother with her three-year-old son in her lap was brutally raped while standing against a wall in an alley in the Brazilian tourist town of Mongagua, on the coast of Sao Paulo state. While the mother endured the brutal sexual crime, the baby, whom she did not let go for a minute out of fear of what the criminal might do to her, cried incessantly.
The crime occurred when the young woman and her son were returning home after going to a local supermarket to do some shopping. On their way home, they were intercepted by a stranger who suddenly arrived on a bicycle and approached them.
Imagining that this was one of the frequent street robberies that plague Brazilian cities, the woman predicted it and handed the alleged thief her wallet with a little money left over from her shopping. But the perpetrator refused, forcibly pulled her by the hair and dragged her with the child to a quiet street located between Orlando Ramalho and Geisa Carcoc streets, in the Jardim Itaguay district.
Unable to do anything, the young woman, especially since the criminal was wielding a dagger threateningly and her main concern was protecting her son, who, not even understanding what was happening, was crying from the man’s aggressiveness, he pulled the victim out on the wall. He himself pulled down the victim’s pants and underwear and sexually assaulted him.
After that, the criminal ordered the woman to leave the place without looking back, but not before stealing her wallet and other things that she initially refused. The girl went out onto a busy street, asked for help and called the police.
At the Mongagua Hospital and Maternity Unit, the young mother received medical attention and a cocktail of abortifacients and drugs to prevent sexually transmitted diseases, a mandatory protocol for the protection of victims of sexual crimes, and was then taken to the Institute of Legal Medicine (IML) for treatment . try to collect the marks left by the criminal on her body. Police are searching for CCTV images in the region to try to obtain footage that will lead to the identification and arrest of the culprit.
