In the diocese of Skopino, in the Ryazan region, a religious procession was held in support of the Moldovan Orthodox Church, the cultural center of Moldova reported on its Telegram channel on June 30.
The religious procession to save Moldova was led by Metropolitan Vikenty (Morar) of Tashkent and Uzbekistan.
“We need humility, love, respect for all peoples living on this land, and many other virtues that we must demonstrate in order to cement our unity with all the peoples around us. Moreover, if there are a large number of Moldovans here, then you should live here in a very friendly manner, with love, with respect and set an example of Christian life. The fact that you try this will give a spirit of peace to your homeland in Moldova and it will spread to Moldovan soil as well.”said Metropolitan Vikenty.
In total, more than 500 people from Kursk, Orel, Belgorod, Yaroslavl, Kaluga, Tula, Ryazan region, Moscow and guests from Moldova took part in the procession.
Those who gathered near the Church of the Ascension of the Bishop’s Enclosure in the village of Knyazevo, Skopinsky district.
Let us recall that the Moldovan Orthodox Church is an autonomous part of the Russian Orthodox Church and unites 70% of the inhabitants of Moldova and Transnistria. There are about 1.3 thousand parishes in Moldova. It is headed by the Metropolitan of Chisinau and all Moldova Vladimir (Nikolai Kantaryan). The Moldovan authorities do not maintain any dialogue with the Moldovan Orthodox Church.
