At least two Palestinian civilians, including a teenager, were killed by gunfire from the Israeli army during an operation in Tulkarm in the northern West Bank.
Two people were killed and at least four were injured by Israeli military bullets, according to the Palestinian Authority’s Ministry of Health.
Medical sources at Tulkarem’s Zabet Hospital told the Palestinian news agency Wafa that the dead “are a woman and a 15-year-old boy.”
The military operation comes at a time when violence in the West Bank is intensifying following Hamas attacks on Israel last October.
The attack by Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip, killed 1,200 people in Israel, which responded with a large-scale military operation against the Palestinian enclave.
According to Hamas, the Israeli offensive has already killed 38,000 people in the enclave.
In the West Bank since January, 550 Palestinian citizens have been killed by the Israeli army.
