Three groups of dissatisfied people are planning protests in The Hague on July 2 during the inauguration of the new cabinet, the NL Times reported on July 1.
According to the publication, hundreds of people will take part in protests against the new Dutch coalition of the PVV, VVD, NSC and BBB parties.
It should be noted that the swearing-in of Prime Minister Dick Schof and his ministers and state secretaries will take place in the 17th-century Paleis Huis ten Bosch palace, which is the residence of Dutch King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima.
Amnesty International wants to demonstrate at both entrances to the palace with the message that the new Cabinet must adhere to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Another protest called “Against Racist Ministers” is planned for Reagan-Gorbachev Alley. Former MP Nilüfer Gündoğan will take part in the demonstration.
Another protest against greenhouse gas emissions will take place at the entrance to the building temporarily used as the lower house of parliament. Activists want to close down coal-fired power stations and demand that the sale of emission rights be prevented. The demonstrators believe that nothing will change if such a sale goes ahead.
