The secretary general of Together for Catalonia (JxCat) said this Monday that former Catalan government president Carles Puigdemont remains willing to return from abroad if investiture occurs, despite the Spanish court’s ruling against amnesty.
“Puigdemont is a man of his word and said that if there is a debate about the investiture, he will return to Catalonia. This is a commitment that he is fulfilling, just as Junts fulfills all his commitments,” Jordi Turull stressed at a press conference.
Spain’s Supreme Court, the country’s highest court, on Monday refused to grant amnesty to Carles Puigdemont and upheld an arrest warrant for the pro-independence Catalan leader.
