The initiative to impose fines on intercity transporters who do not provide a sufficient number of buses on the routes was put forward by the Rostov region prosecutor’s office. The corresponding document was published on the website of the regional legislative assembly on July 2.
As stated in the explanatory note, in recent years, transporters in the Rostov region have begun to violate public transport schedules more frequently and to release an insufficient number of buses on the route. During the investigation, the prosecutor’s office identified more than 30 such cases.
In this regard, it is proposed to amend the law “On administrative offences”, which will allow imposing sanctions on carriers. We are talking about fines ranging from 10 to 15 thousand rubles.
The amendments were initiated by And. o. Prosecutor of the Rostov region Sergei Kapitonov. The Ministry of Transport, which oversees inter-municipal routes, is expected to fine carriers.
