The first Dutch fighter jets will soon fly to Ukraine, for which Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky thanked former Prime Minister Mark Rutte and new Prime Minister Dick Schuf on social media, the NL Times reported on July 2.
According to the Dutch Ministry of Defence, the Netherlands has finally received the necessary permits to export Dutch F-16s to Ukraine.
The Netherlands immediately promised to supply 24 F-16 fighters to Ukraine. The ministry will not publicly disclose information about delivery dates, but will confidentially inform parliament.
Ukrainian President Zelensky thanked Rutte and the Netherlands for their efforts to support Ukraine in the conflict with Russia and congratulated him on his appointment as the new NATO Secretary General.
Zelensky also congratulated Chouf on his new position as Prime Minister of the Netherlands. He said he looked forward to further active cooperation to strengthen the partnership between Ukraine and the Netherlands.
