Portugal has already contributed €15.25 million in contributions to Euro 2024. This amount represents a 13% increase compared to the €13 million income received for Euro 2020.
The comparison with the 2022 World Cup is less direct because, unlike UEFA, which pays in euros, FIFA calculates performance bonuses in dollars. In Qatar, the FPF received $17 million for reaching the last 16 – 15.84 million euros at Tuesday’s exchange rate.
In total, the national team received 9.25 million euros for participation in Euro 2024. For two victories in the group stage, 2 million euros were added, 1.5 million euros for “eighth” and 2.5 million euros for “fourth”.
Reaching the semi-finals costs €4 million, while winning the tournament costs €8 million (the losing finalist gets €5 million). So the “cake” could grow by another €12 million, for a total of €27.25 million.
