The Attorney General of the Republic, Lucilia Gago, agreed to be heard in Parliament, but only after the “annual report on the activities of the State Ministry” had been completed.
“The Prosecutor General of the Republic has already informed the Committee on Constitutional Issues, Rights, Freedoms and Guarantees of her readiness to accept the invitation to the hearings that she addressed to her,” reads a statement sent to morning Post.
The hearing was requested by PAN and Bloco de Esquerda.
“Such hearings will cover, among other things, the annual report on the activities of the prosecutor’s office,” the Prosecutor General of the Republic said, adding that the report for 2023 is in the final stages of preparation and should be completed within a few weeks. Therefore, the Prosecutor General of the Republic suggested that the hearings could take place after such a conclusion,” they specified.
