The search was intensified on Thursday morning for three missing fishermen from a boat that docked on Wednesday off the beaches of Sao Pedro de Moel and Vieira de Leiria.
On land, searches are being carried out using the Amarok vehicle of the SeaWatch project, the Nazaré Marine Police picket and the Nazaré Marine Police aerial surveillance team.
The Portuguese Navy patrol vessel NRP Setúbal and the Portuguese Navy fast surveillance boat NRP Cassiopeia are at sea.
There is currently fog in the area, so the conditions for deploying air resources are not met at this time.
The Marine Police Forensic Diving Team and the Portuguese Navy’s Diving Squad No. 2 are meeting with the Port Master of Nazaré, who is coordinating the search operations on site, to prepare for another diving operation, scheduled to begin at 8am.
