Several explosions thundered in Kharkov late on Saturday evening. The first explosions were heard around 11:00 pm local time (minus two hours in mainland Portugal), and sources in the regional government of the second Ukrainian city admit that it was an attack using the S-300, a Soviet-era missile similar to (but technologically inferior to) the American Patriots.
The first information released on the Telegram social network by journalists from the city, located a few kilometers from the border with Russia, reported that several industrial facilities were damaged, but no one was injured.
Kharkiv has been a city shelled by Moscow artillery since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The Kyiv military has reclaimed – and still holds – the territory that the Russians seized in the region last March.
