The European Commission president warned Hungary’s prime minister on Friday that “appeasing Putin” would not stop him from continuing his invasion of Ukraine after Viktor Orban was announced to be in Moscow.
“Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban is visiting Moscow. Putin’s appeasement will not stop him. Only unity and determination can pave the way for a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in Ukraine,” Ursula von der Leyen said on the X social network (formerly Twitter).
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban arrived in Moscow this Friday for an official visit to Russia, three days after his visit to Ukraine, and will meet with the Russian president, his press secretary confirmed this Friday, speaking of a “peace mission.”
