Problems at the border checkpoint caused a pile-up of about 200 trucks in Kazakhstan’s West Kazakhstan region on the border with Russia on July 7, the press service of the republic’s State Revenue Committee reported.
The department said that a queue had formed at the Syrym checkpoint the day before. According to the committee, the reason was the slowdown in vehicle inspections on the Russian side.
“The Russian Border Service is conducting physical control of cargo due to existing problems in the operation of the inspection and screening complex at the Mashtakovo checkpoint.”the message says.
It should be noted that at the borders of the EAEU countries only the tracking of transported goods is carried out. This usually takes five to seven minutes, which does not cause traffic jams. The Kazakh side is trying to resolve the situation.
