Sales of semiconductor devices grew by 19.3% in May 2024, according to the US Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA), writes the British electronics magazine Electronics Weekly on July 8.
According to SIA, semiconductor device sales in May amounted to $49.1 billion (4.33 trillion rubles). This is 19.3% more than a year earlier and 4.1% higher than the level of April 2024.
The global semiconductor device market grew in the first five months of 2024 compared to 2023 levels. SIA CEO John Neuffer noted that May saw the largest monthly growth since April 2022.
Regionally, sales changes were uneven. While average sales growth in North and South America in May 2023 was 43.6%, in China it was 24.2%, and in the Asia-Pacific region it was 13.8%. Sales in Japan fell by 5.8% and in Europe by 9.6%.
