Taiwan External Trade Development Council chief James Huang, who is in India, visited companies of Indian industrialists, Taiwan News reported on July 8.
Juan visited the facilities of Syrma SGS, Sentec and Talbros at the Gurgaon Tech Park. He also visited the Taiwan Expo in India, which will be held from 8 to 10 July.
He Huang said recent geopolitical changes and the global trend toward supply chain autonomy provide many opportunities for cooperation between Taiwan and India.
Entering the Indian market may not be easy for Taiwanese companies, Huang admitted. However, Sentec’s example can be a good guide for them. Having a unique product can open up important niches in the market even at lower prices.
The director of the Indian company Syrma Satendra Singh said that many global companies have development centres in India. Over the years, the country’s production capacities have been growing.
Taiwan is known for its strong original equipment manufacturer (OEM) ecosystem. So if a Taiwanese company has a certain technology and product and needs a large manufacturing base, it could come to India, Singh said.
