On Tuesday, the US Secretary of State met with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba in Washington, USA.
The meeting with US leader Antony J. Blinken raised the issue of Ukraine joining NATO. The two officials also discussed how Ukraine could improve its air defenses against a Russian invasion.
The US Secretary of State welcomed the “defense of the northern and eastern regions from recent Russian offensives.” The US reaffirmed its support for Ukraine, its “sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.”
It is expected to be one of the first bilateral meetings to take place during the NATO summit in Washington. The war in Ukraine and the war in the Middle East are the two biggest issues on the agenda.
