New British Prime Minister Keir Starmer told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday that the UK’s position on Ukraine had “not changed”, joining several leaders who expressed support for Kyiv at the start of a NATO summit.
Starmer’s Labour Party, who took office after his party’s landslide victory in the general election on the 4th, met the Ukrainian president on the sidelines of the Atlantic Alliance summit in Washington.
The new British chief executive, who greeted Zelensky with a hug and a handshake, told the Ukrainian leader that the UK had “changed government but not changed approach”, referring to the economic situation and the military forces your country is providing to Ukraine in its war with Russia.
