
Italian tennis player Lorenzo Musetti defeated American Taylor Fritz in five sets on July 10 in the quarterfinals of the Wimbledon tournament in London.
Musetti, world number 25, broke the resistance of Fritz (12th in the ATP rankings) in 3 hours and 27 minutes: 3:6, 7:6, 6:2, 3:6, 6:1.
During the match, Musetti hit seven aces, made three second serve errors and won six games on the opponent’s serve (13 break points in total). Fritz has 10 serves to his name, one double fault and four converted break points out of nine won.
Lorenzo Musetti will compete with Serbian Novak Djokovic to reach the final of the third Grand Slam tournament of the season.
The Wimbledon men’s singles tournament will be held from July 1 to 14 on the open-air grass courts in London. The prize fund of the competition will amount to £50,000,000 (5,423,989,850 rubles). The current champion of the competition is Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz.
