Chinese police handed over a fugitive listed by Interpol for sexual crimes against minors to the United States on Thursday at Pudong International Airport in Shanghai, eastern China.
A man nicknamed Scott, accused of child abuse in the United States, has been extradited in another episode of cooperation between Chinese and American police in recent months, state television CCTV reported.
The fugitive had been on Interpol’s watch list since October 2018, after US authorities had been searching for him since May 2014. He was detained by Chinese police after an investigation concluded that he had not committed sexual crimes against minors on Chinese soil.
