American entrepreneur Elon Musk told the media that he plans to develop a plan for a city on Mars and provide his genetic material to populate a future colony, RIA Novosti reported on July 11.
In a post on social network X, Elon Musk wrote: “I did not volunteer my sperm for any purpose. And no SpaceX employee was assigned to work in a Martian city.”
Earlier, the New York Times, citing sources close to Musk as well as internal documents and emails, reported that he had ordered his employees to develop a plan to build a city on Mars. This plan should include work on creating dome-like dwellings and spacesuits, as well as studying ways to combat the hostile Martian environment and further populate the planet with people.
Previously, Musk said he hopes to conduct an unmanned flight of the Starship spacecraft to Mars within the next four years. According to him, he would also name the first city on Mars after the word “Bar.”
