
Russian lacrosse celebrates its anniversary: exactly 10 years ago the official debut of the national team took place, reports July 11 IA Krasnaya Vesna.
The first official match took place on 11 July 2014 against Wales, in which our team was defeated, but managed to score twice: the match ended with a score of 2:10 in favour of the more experienced team.
The meeting took place within the framework of the 2014 World Championship near Denver, USA. In total, our team played eight matches at the Championship, two of which ended in victory.
The Russian national team scored 46 goals and conceded 80, and in the final standings they took 32nd place out of 38 participants. Among the nine teams that participated in the World Championship for the first time, our players had the fifth best result.

2:10 – Wales loses
5:16 – loss to New Zealand
5:2 – victory over Argentina
7:14 – Norway loses
11:6 – victory over Spain
4:8 – Belgium loses
5:9 – Spain defeated
7:15 – France defeated
Lacrosse is a game invented by North American Indians, now most popular in Canada and the United States. Two teams play, athletes pass and throw the ball with special sticks, the goal is to score as many goals as possible in a small goal.
